JK Rowling becomes Freeman of the City of London

JK Rowling is to receive the Freedom of the City of London at The Mansion House on May 8 for her services to children’s literature, nominated for the honour by Alderman David Wootton, Lord Mayor of the City of London, and Sheriff of London Wendy Mead.

The ceremony will see the Harry Potter author read aloud the Declaration of a Freeman and presented with a framed parchment certificate.
